As I Rock

As I sit on the porch
with my morning coffee,
say my prayers to start the day,

Geese fly over in formation,
birds in the trees
waking and singing,

Neighbors moving
here and there,
off to school and work,

Planes overhead,
trains passing by,
the world rushing around—

Yet no one sees me,
unaware as I sit
and pray.

But I am never alone!
