Called to mission: How everyday Catholics can share the Gospel

Criterion staff report

ArchIndy Vox pocast logoArchIndy Vox’s latest podcast explores how Catholics can share the Gospel not only in distant mission fields, but also through our everyday witness to our families, fellow parishioners, neighbors and communities—an important theme of the Second Vatican Council’s “Decree on Missionary Activity,” known also by its Latin title, “Ad Gentes.”

The episode is part of “The Church in Our Time: What Vatican II Means for Everyday Catholics,” a 16-episode series exploring how the teachings of the Second Vatican Council remain as relevant to Catholics today as they were when the council documents were released more than 50 years ago.

Host Ken Ogorek, executive director of the archdiocean Secretariat for Evangelizing Catechesis, is joined by Paul Sifuentes, senior director of the archdiocese’s Department of Parish Leadership, and Alexa Sifuentes, Paul’s wife and a parish catechetical leader.

Together, they discuss how every Catholic is called to be a missionary disciple and the roles of the Holy Spirit, catechesis and accompaniment in helping others encounter Christ.
