Parents invited to listening session with Archbishop Thompson on Aug. 31

Criterion staff report

Archbishop Charles C. Thompson invites parents throughout the Archdiocese of Indianapolis to take part in a special listening session from 7-8 p.m. on Aug. 31 to share what it is like to live the Catholic faith as a family today.

Parents with children of all ages and stages may participate in person at the Archbishop Edward T. O’Meara Catholic Center, 1400 N. Meridian St., in Indianapolis, or virtually online. The deadline to register for the in-person session is Aug. 26. Babysitting will be available for in-person attendees who indicate a need on the registration form.

The session offers parents an opportunity to speak directly with Archbishop Thompson about the joys and challenges of family life, how they seek to share Christ with others and how parishes, schools and archdiocesan ministries can better support families in living their faith.

What Archbishop Thompson hears from archdiocesan families will be taken to a fall meeting of bishops from around the world with Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican focused on how the Church can more effectively accompany and support families.

Parents are encouraged to register now and make their voices part of this important conversation. To register, scan the QR code below or go to tinyurl.com/archindylisteningsession. Those who choose the “virtually online” option on the form will receive a link to the live session. †
