General Announcements

Father Jerry Byrd will lead ‘Living the Litany of Humility’ retreat in Bloomington on Sept. 18-20

Father Jerry Byrd, pastor of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Parish in Indianapolis, will lead a “Living the Litany of Humility” retreat at Mother of the Redeemer Retreat Center, 8220 W. State Road 48, in Bloomington, on Sept. 18-20.

The Litany of Humility calls on Christ for deliverance of the things human nature tends to seek—being esteemed, being honored, being approved. It also seeks deliverance from fear of that which human nature recoils from—being despised, being ridiculed, being wronged. And it asks Jesus for grace in desiring the good of others over self.

Throughout the New Testament, Christ and the Apostles call his followers to be humble like him.

From Friday evening through Sunday morning, Father Byrd will offer five talks on how to live the litany’s call to humility.

Each day also offers the opportunity for Mass and confession, with time for adoration and praying the Divine Mercy chaplet on Saturday and for praying the rosary on Saturday and Sunday.

Check-in begins at 5 p.m. on Friday, and the retreat ends at 11 a.m. on Sunday.

The cost for overnight guests includes lodging for two nights in a room with two queen-size beds. The cost per room is $290 for one occupant, $480 for two occupants, $670 for three occupants and $860 for four occupants. The cost includes light snacks on Friday evening, two breakfasts, one lunch and one supper per person.

The cost for commuters is $90 and includes the same snacks and meals listed above.

For more information or to register, go to motheroftheredeemer.com or call 812-825-4642, ext. 1.
