Video campaign showcases rewards of teaching in Catholic schools

Criterion staff report

The teachers who shape the faith and future of Catholic school students are taking center stage in a new social media campaign launched by the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.

The initiative, a partnership between the archdiocesan Office of Catholic Schools and Secretariat for Communications, features a series of short video reels highlighting educators who share what they value most about teaching in Catholic schools. The campaign is designed to attract qualified teachers to schools across central and southern Indiana.

Led by Joe Hansen, assistant superintendent for Catholic Schools, the videos focus on the mission of Catholic education, relationships with students and colleagues, and the opportunity to integrate faith into daily work.

The reels are being shared on archdiocesan social media channels, including LinkedIn, with links directing viewers to the Archdiocese of Indianapolis employment website, where current teaching opportunities are posted.

“Teaching in a Catholic school is more than a profession. It is a vocation that allows educators to help form students academically, spiritually and personally,” Hansen said. “These videos give our teachers an opportunity to share their experiences and encourage others to consider joining our schools.”

The videos hope to attract talented educators by highlighting the faith-filled communities, sense of purpose and opportunities available throughout Catholic schools.
